Anyone have a baby (around 1) who WILL NOT sit for meals?
DS was a great eater-- now it is a struggle to even get him into high chair, then getting the tray on... forget about it!
Anyway, he seems to eat ok if he's on my lap, or will then fuss and fight and I will take him out of chair, and he literally will be happy to eat the food he has just thrown on the floor.
It is so frustrating, and with an older child also-- I cannot give in to this way of wanting to eat.
Any suggestions?

I would try to only give him food in his chair. Show him that is the place where he gets food - not Mommy's lap or the floor. Is he sitting right at the table with you and older DC?

DD is 17 months and will eat if she is sitting on the regular chair, but hates being in her seat. Breakfast and lunch I'm usually chasing her around with food or feeding her when she runs laps around the house and stops in the kitchen for a bite Dinner is always at the table as a family and she is pretty good for that. I know DS went through a phase like this as well so I'm just going with it and eventually I'll get her back in her seat!!

My twins are 15 months adjusted and one of them went(sometimes still going through it). We always start out in the high chairs and sometimes I move her to the pack and play we have in the kitchen and she eats. I was also concerned about creaking bad habits, but most of the time she is ok now. We now have meals with books and toys. Lots of distractions!!! It is just a phase. At least that is what I have been told.
