Sprinkles - When is it appropriate?
Meaning, do people just have a sprinkle for a 2nd child?
I have a friend that is pg with #2 & #3
I was thinking of hosting a sprinkle bc she will obv be needing some items.
Is this an appropriate situation to have one?
I have never been to one, so I am not sure what they are all about

Yes, def! Every baby deserves one imo but not everyone feels the same way. It is just like a shower but toned down. I had 2 for my friend. Simple, at my house. Ordered food and cake, some decorations and done.

I think a sprinkle is always appropriate, as long as it stays a sprinkle, the mother to be doesn't host it, and she doesn't go crazy with a full blown registry.

I think that they are totally appropriate as long as its not a shower all over again.
I know in my family they are definitely frowned upon and I wouldnt invite any of my older relatives if someone threw one for me- but as long as she is giving you the guest list, that shouldnt be an issue
its very sweet that you are wiling to throw one for her

I say do whatever you want. If anyone has a prob with it then they don't have to come! Most of my friends who have more than one child have have some kind of shower or sprinkle for each one! And why not? It's a new baby, possibly a different gender and for some people the children are many years apart.

my mom and sister threw one for us for #2. #1 is almost 3 and the opposite sex.
it was small, maybe 12-14 people (all family) but really nice!

I think that's totally appropriate!! I think sprinkles are nice regardless of how close in age or whether or not the sex is same, opposite or unknown. I wish family members felt the same way...

I had one for my 3rd. I am having a girl this time around. I had 2 boys the first and second time. It was very small, at someone's house. There was only 12 people altogether. It was very nice and I really appreciated it!!!! Your friend is very lucky!!!

Thanks ladies - I have never been to one, nor does my family believe in them or showers - but that is an Italian thing!
I am happy to host it for her as she would do anything for me
Yes I had made a quick list and there were only 11 people on it. I think it would just be a nice way to celebrate the new babies on the way!
