Is 14 months too young to start fingerpainting with DD? ANy other idea for crafts I can do with her?

Also.. can someone please explain the difference to me between all of the different kinds of fingerpaints/washable paints/tempera paints etc? DO you have one you would recommend.? Even a starter kid recommendation would be AWESOME!

Not at all. I introduced watercolor paint to ds the other day. Haven't done fiber paint. There are recipes to make your own and i saw on pinterest how people out the paint in a zip lock bag so it's less messy.

Re: Arts and Crafts

At 14 months I would finger paint with pudding instead of paint. Or water color with jello. Or play with a pile of whipped cream for texture.
They love it and it's safe.
My son used real paints at 19 months when he could understand no mouth.

DD has been doing arts and crafts since she was 12 months. I like the Crayola Color Wonder paints. They're clear and only color on the special paper made for it. We tend to use that more than regular paints. We fingerpaint, color with crayons, put stickers on paper, and DD is in love with the magnadoodle now. She's 19 months this week.

Thanks Ladies.. this is helpful!

Anyone have a fingerpaint recomendation? I am a bit hesitant with the fingerpaints though bc I bought "fun dough" for DD last week and she tried to eat it_ i ended up packing it away for now!

Re: Arts and Crafts

Pudding and yogurt is better at that age as they will eat it!!! I buy crayola washable paints. Try the Crayola toddler line. They have markers and crayons...
