That's really high. Could mean nothing, could mean multiples, and in some cases it might be indicative of a pregnancy abnormality . Once you have a sono you will know more.

Re: 31,000+hcg at 6 weeks pregnant??
Thank you for your quick responses, I truly appreciate them because I'm really anxious! He told me that he wanted to test my levels to help him decide whether or not I should get a sono sooner rather than later. He gave me a referral to get a sono at a diagnostic place because he wouldn't be able to schedule me for an in-office sono for a few weeks. He told me if my levels were significantly lower than 2000 that a sonogram wouldn't make any sense at that point because the tech wouldn't be able to see anything. I was anticipating that my levels would be in the 2,000 range. But 31,000??

Then it probably means nothing.
If he did a sono and didnt see anything then your levels came back that high, i would say its not good... but for 6 w normal range is between 1000 and 50000

are you sure you arent further along than you think? Maybe like 8 weeks? or maybe multiples? or could be a lab typo error and maybe it's 3,100? Don't freak out and good luck.

I just looked up on line at 6 weeks the range can be from 1,000 to over 50,000. The site gave 3 reasons why levels may be high said miscalculation of date, Molar pregnancy or multiples

Re: 31,000+hcg at 6 weeks pregnant??
I shouldn't be further along, I took a test the day of my missed period and it came back negative. I took it a week later and it came back positive so it just seems like my levels are rapidly increasing? But anything is possible....I'm just trying to stay calm. I have my sono scheduled for Monday, I don't know what i'm going to do between now and then, I'm a wreck

It actually sounds completely normal to me...I had 5000 hgc at 5 weeks ..if it doubles every 48 hrs then 31000 would seem fine!

OK I figured out some #'s so you can compare...remember that everyone is different and levels can be varying but doesn't sound abnnormal to me..
at 5 weeks 1 day i was 5,000 (totally fine, 1 baby) so 5 weeks 3 days would be around 10,000 5 weeks 5 days, 20,000
6 weeks a level of 30,000 is normal! Going by doubling rates it seems just fine! Don't stress!

Good!! Glad I could help. I worry too about things in the beginning. I had an ectopic in september before this pregnancy and my levels at 6 weeks were 670....I KNEW that was way too low...then with this new pregnancy, I heard 5,000 at 5 weeks and went "whoa! thats high" but it was right on track..
and I wouldn't really be concerned with a molar pregnancy...they are so so rare..and from the little i know about them, the numbers are like insanely high..off the charts for the appropriate week range...are you are within normal range!
Hope you have a relaxing and worry free weekend

I didn't have my levels checked that at along. My dr stopped after about 5 weeks but I think if we kept testing mine would have been in the higher side. My family was thinking multiples because my numbers were high.
My DS is 13 months now. The numbers don't really tell you much of anything.
