Anterior Placenta

How many weeks when you were diagnosed with it? Did you ask the DR or did the sono tech notice it?

I am 17 weeks, will be 18 on Saturday with my third, I think I feel movement, but nothing that I can say it's definitely her. I am getting a little worried, mostly because I am scared it's going to implant on my c-section scar and I am going to get that placenta acretia. I have a 20 week sono on Feb 19th, so I will def ask then, but I was just curious!

Thanks!

Re: Anterior Placenta

I had it with my first two...I definitely knew early...by 20 weeks...I think the sono tech told me both times. I asked my doctor at my appointment today and she said it would be in my NT scan report, but she didn't have the report in my file yet...I don't think I have it with this pregnancy though, since I have felt movement already and we could easily hear the heartbeat and clear kicks with the doppler, which we couldn't with my other two pregnancies at this point.

Re: Anterior Placenta

This has me wondering, when I went to baby imprints, she said it was at the bottom, which is another thing that has me worried, but at my 16 week appointment, the dr was trying to find the heartbeat and couldn't, we had just had a quickie sono, so I knew she was okay, but just another thing to add to the list!

Re: Anterior Placenta

i knew at about 14 weeks when i had an another issue that was cause for a sono in my docs office, she saw it but said that it would probably move up.....then at 16 weeks they saw it again and it was completely over the csection scar....but at my 20 week the dr said that she saw that it had already started to move up away from the scar by about 5in or so so she didnt see it being a problem since she felt it was going to continue to move up and away as the weeks went on...i too did not feel movement and this is also my third until around 18 weeks now im 21 weeks and feel the baby all the time

Re: Anterior Placenta

I had an anterior placenta with DS#2. Did not feel movement until around 20+wks. I did not find out I had an anterior placenta until I was delivering DS.

Re: Anterior Placenta

I'm pretty sure I knew at 12 weeks, and started feeling real movement at 22 weeks.

Re: Anterior Placenta

Found out at my 20 week anatomy scan...she wouldn't have told me but DH asked why I couldn't feel all the movement, since the kid was boxing in there. The sono tech told us about the anterior placenta. I was bummed, but a week later I started feeling movement!

Re: Anterior Placenta

At my amnio the sono tech who did the sono prior to the amino told me about it. So that was like 16 weeks maybe?

Re: Anterior Placenta

Okay, I am going to hold out until the 20 week and mention it then. They didn't say anything at the 16 week or 12 week, I am going to assume they would have if they saw something, I am just paranoid :)

Thanks for all the replies!
