Odd Question Re: Airfare and a 2yo UPDATE
So we are planning a vacation... We are still working on the exact dates as we are going with another family but one of the weeks being thrown around is the week of my DS's birthday.
He will be 1 when we leave and turn 2 - 2 days into the vacation....
Do I book him a one way airfare back from vacation? LOL
Sorry this question just makes me laugh but its like $120 savings so why not!
Update... I called southwest and they told me to just purchase a one way ticket for him back from vacation.

Delta says if they turn 2 during the trip you must pay the whole trip. It is on their site
Someone asked me this recently so I am curious as to the answer. I am not sure if all airline do but I bet since they always want extras they will. I know places like disney they are age at check in.
Have you called the airline you want to fly with and ask?

Airlines always want money so I bet they will charge the whole trip. Disney cruise and hotel sounds like fun!

Yeah I am super excited! We have taken my older DS to the parks 2x, but this is DS2's first "real" vacation.
We were originally planning just a week at Disney, but thought this was a nice alternative and then we can always take the kids to disney another time....but my DH said if we are down there why not just add a few days! Don't have to ask me twice!
Now I just have to settle on which hotel!
We will most likely fly SW. And I will say out of the 4 flights we have taken on SW with DS1 they have only checked his birth certificate once but I just dont want to take a chance, so I will call tomorrow!

Definitely call. We're of the same mind. If we're in Orlando anyway, might as well go to Disney!
I don't know how you're planning, but I think it's best by far if you can do the parks first.

That's what I was thinking, but DH wants to do them after....but its really going to come down to which works better with work and school schedules at this point.

Trust me you will want to convince your DH to do the parks 1st. You run around in the parks you will want the cruise 2nd to unwind. Otherwise you go relax 1st then then run inthe parks and thengo back to work tired and needing the vacation.

I agree, but really we have been to disney 2x and not felt run down at the end. Our kids are still young enough that there isnt a need to "do everything" just yet!
If we do them before the cruise, DH and DS will miss work/school for more days than if we do them after so thats a consideration too!
But I am working on it bc then it will work better with the other family we are going with too!

Re: Odd Question Re: Airfare and a 2yo UPDATE
read the update, but for the other poster that said another airline forces you to buy two seats, I was going to say you could always just book two one way trips. I don't see how they would have any right in that instance to charge for the way there, kwim.
