Only 5DT?
RMA says now they only do 5DT for IVF. No more 3DT. Anyone heard of this? Is this the new norm? Last time we did IVF 6 years ago they did both depending on your embies.

Mine does both 3dt and 5dt based on how embies are growing but my doctor did say there are some that will only do 3dt and some that will only do 5dt. I don't really know the rational for it though. I was supposed to have my 3dt transfer today but they pushed it to a 5dt. I hope the embies make it, b/c when they did this last cycle the embies basically fizzled out! I am a nervous wreck!

I think it depends where you go. Some Dr's do 3DT. I personally wouldn't gamble. I know they say that they like to pick the best embryos for day 5 but then again sometimes embryos do better by putting them back in there own enviroment.

Ours do both. They set you up automatically for a 3dt and call you if yet would rather you do a 5dt based upon how your embies look. Good luck

A year ago RMA was doing both 3 and 5dt. Not sure why they would only be doing 5dt now, or if that's even the case.

I know when I first went to my current RE he said they do day 5 transfers, but if you don't have good quality eggs or small quantity they will do day 3.

This is what Dr. Copperman told me. I was just  because the last time we did IVF (6 years ago) that was not the case. Dr. Tortoriello was my RE last time and he told me that 5DT is good but so are 3DT because sometimes embryos do better in their natural environment. Just curious. Thanks everyone
