Bellini - is this a good deal?

Friend of friend is selling their kids's bedroom set.

Girl's set comes with full size bed, chest, and small armoire. Boy's set comes in full size bed, dresser, and night stand. Both is about 6 years old and in pretty good (almost great) condition. They are asking $800 each set. I know Bellini is pretty expensive but I have no idea how much these will be if new.

Our furniture is Bellini. Our Vanessa crib alone was 1000. We paid slightly less, but not much. We went to the Manhattan and Manhasset stores. Our set is 4yrs old and looks brand new.

Some people would say it is a waste to pay that much but after child #2 it's still brand new. We will sell it too because it is in near perfect condition.

I would advice to go to the store and see what the new selling price is for the pieces and judge. I want to say its a steal considering our crib price alone and the armoires and chests are similar price. You won't regret the purchase, it's a great company to take second hand from. The pieces hold up excellent!

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, both sets look brand new. I think we may just get it because even a brand new full size bed from Raymour and Flanagan is already $700 and that's just for the bed. Figured we would save about $1000 per set if we go this route.

I agree it's a great price. We have a set from Bellini in my 4 year olds room and it looks like new! Very high quality furniture and worth the $ we spent so I say take the deal thy are offering.

It's a great price. Bellini is VERY expensive furniture but 9/10 times worth it. If I were you, I would go to a local Bellini store and check out some items and get some prices that way you can compare and see if the friend of a friend's asking price is worth it to you. You might not want all of the items they are selling in the set, and might want to buy new from Bellini or another furniture store.
