Had my NT Scan today
Is it normal for the sono tech to not say anything? I know I have to go back next week for the results, but I felt like unless I asked something specific she didn't say anything. Like I had to ask what size the baby was, what the heartbeat was, etc.
To me everything looked perfect! We saw the babies brain, heart, spine. It was by far the best appointment we've had. It's so amazing!

Re: Had my NT Scan today
glad everything went well and sorry the tech wasn't as informative. Maybe the tech thought everything look normal and he/she would specifically say if there is something wrong? well at least you were able to ask questions. But I agree its such a great experience!! glad you did it

Had my NT Scan today
When I had mine last Friday, sono lady would say "heart...brain..head..ect ect look good" after she scanned & measured each body part. She even asked me if I was bleeding..(come to find out I have a low laying placenta). Saw my Dr right after & he gave me the low down. Did you have this at your Dr office? My sono's are done at Dr office. Sure all is ok.

Yeah lots of places wont let the tech tell you anything. You can call your Dr and ask them to make sure!

Had my NT Scan today
This was not done at my doctor's office, it was done at Madonna Perinatal. I have a follow up appt next Wed with a genetic counselor to go over the results. They said this was standard procedure so I'm not too worried. Just thought I would get more information than I did.

Re: Had my NT Scan today
Trust me you do not want the sono techs to talk to you. I had a situation in my first pregnancy where the sono tech said everything was fine. She was so excited for us... we got the gender... I texted about 90% of cell contacts.. then the dr comes in and we find out that he had the most severe form of amniotic band syndrome possible with a band wrapping around and intertwined with is entire body including his umbilical cord cutting off food and blood supply and our baby didn't make it more than another 8 days.
This was the sono where the tech told us how "great" everything was. I'm not saying this to scare you but they are NOT doctors so either way, they should not be talking to you. They are sono techs. They are there to perform your sono and provide the images to the dr... That is it.
At the high risk I go to now, one of the main sono techs doesn't say a word and gets mad at you if you ask anything. It doesn't mean the baby has a problem, I think it's just a matter of professionalism.

Sono techs are not supposed to give you any "diagnosis" but can tell you this is the heart or this is the foot. lol. Only a dr can give you the results (or a nurse after the dr has reviewed them).
