(Newser) – If you ever, for some reason, had any respect for Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, prepare to lose it: The reality show couple tells OK! in a recent interview that they spent all their money before December 21, because they were convinced the world was going to end that day, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "We made and spent at least $10 million. The thing is, we heard that the planet was going to end in 2012. We thought, we have got to spend this money before the asteroid hits," says Pratt, who we really hope is joking. "Here’s some advice, definitely do not spend your money thinking asteroids are coming."
At least they spent it generously: "I would give my friends $15,000 for their birthday. Just cash," Pratt says. "I would buy people cars. Every valet I met got a couple of hundred pounds tip. I would pay people $200 just to open doors for us." The interview came on the heels of Speidi's latest role, on Britain's Celebrity Big Brother, which they just left. They apparently enjoyed the UK so much they want to permanently relocate there ... and live in a castle, they told the Mirror. "We love being the new Posh and Becks," says a perhaps wishfully-thinking Pratt.
