Sippy cups - how to pick one?

DD will be 1 next week and I want to get her off the bottle as soon as possible. She is in no way attached to it, so I figure, why not give it a try. She already drinks out of her older sister's straw cups, so I know she can do it. This past weekened, I went out and bought these for herimpossible to drink from cups ....the sucking power required to get anything out is just nuts. She can drink from them, but she doesn't get much out since you have to suck so hard!

I remember when we started my older DD on sippy cups that we bought tons of em to try them out to see which she liked best. Is there any good way to do this without wasting a ton of money?

If she is already drinking from straw cups then I would just skip the traditional spout sippy all together!

They don't need to learn how to use a spout sippy.

I agree just go straight to the straw cup. We did the spout sippys and now we are having to make a 2nd transition to straws. I wish someone had told me earlier that spout cups are unnecessary!

I took DS off the bottle at 1, and straight to the straw sippy.

I bought something called "safe sippy" very easy to drink from and it is stainless steal as opposed to plastic. Got it on Ebay reasonably priced.
