Sciatica-what helps??
I was wondering what helps with sciatic pain? I'm only 18 weeks I can't believe I have that pain already. I had it mildly at the end of my pregnancy with DD. it's just so hard now bc I have to chase her around(she's 15mths)

Sciatica-what helps??
I was in some serious pain a few weeks ago and thought I could just "push through the pain" but after a week of barely being able to walk/sit/move I called my doctor and she suggested going to a Physical Therapist. I went and before they did any PT stuff they asked if I wanted to try a massage. So I got a massage where they just focused on those specific areas and the muscles surrounding the sciatic nerve. It was uncomfortable and when she applied pressure in certain places my eyes teared but I just went with it. I left there not feeling any better but about an hour later I noticed the pain was GONE!!!
They suggested icing it and using a tennis ball up against a wall applying pressure to that spot if I wasn't feeling better but I have been absolutely fine ever since.
Soooo long story short, I'm going to recommend a massage but at a place that is familiar with these kinds of things!!
Good luck and I hope you get some relief soon!!!!

Sciatica-what helps??
My chiropractor and I were talking about sciatica yesterday and I think the only thing that can help is an adjustment. She adjusted my pelvis and I'm sore today but feel better already. Good luck.

Re: Sciatica-what helps??
LOVED my heating pad when I had it with my DD. And heating pads are completely safe to use during pregnancy................just as long as you aren't putting them on your tummy. Honestly, for my sciatic pain, it was a godsend. The heat really helped.

Re: Sciatica-what helps??
you tube sciaitca stretches. Someone posted a video on here for me a while back and they were great and I felt relief right away.
One was to do squats while holding on to a sturdy chair.
Another was to bring one foot up to the opposite knee, Sitting crossed leg, and lean forward.
