oakland gardens
anyone know how this neighborhood is? my husband and i are looking at an apartment there, but i am not that familiar with the area , besides that it is right by bayside.

we looked at coops there- very nice, quiet area- similar to bayside.

its another name for bayside too...we live in a coop there and are selling it, 1BR very spacious and clean  near public transportation and shops! let me know if youre interested..

Maybe try posting on LIW? Many of us on here have kids on here and a 1 bedroom may not work but it is a nice area! I hope you can sell soon!

oakland gardens
It is part of Bayside. I grew up there- It is a nice middle to upper middle class neighborhood. The schools are great and it is close to highways, buses and the LIRR.

I grew up there. It is part of Bayside. My mom just sold her house - she lives there for 35 years.
Great school district. Decent lot sizes for Queens. Awesome commute to NYC. Good shopping on Bell Blvd and in Bay Terrace.

oakland gardens
I lived in a COOP there for six years but that was six years ago. It is a small subsection of Bayside. Most of the homes/COOPs there are in elementary school district 26 which is considered one of the best in NYC. Close to Manhattan and LI, LIRR and express bus. Lots of restaurants and bars.

I just moved here in August after growing up on Long Island and living in Westchester for a few years. I LOVE IT! Very convenient to NYC. It's a safe neighborhood and the elementary school is great. I am very happy here.
