I'm going to have ds's 1st bday party at home and we're inviting parents that have kids ranging from 8mo to 3 yo. What sort of activities did you have for the kids if any? TIA!! Chat Icon

I have my twins 1st birthday this past october & hired a clown. She did tatoos, sing alongs, parachute games. I paid about $100. for one hour & was so worth it.

I bought tattoos, and a bean bag toss from oriental traders.they also played with a ball in the back yard.they seemed to have a great time..they mostly played and chased each other around.

We did both our son's first birthday parties at my mom's house. We didn't have any organized games. The only thing we did was put out little toys related to the theme. My older son's theme was music, so we got a bunch of inflatable guitars and microphones and some dollar store type tambourines and just put them out on a table for the kids to play with. My younger son's theme was dogs and cats and we got dog and cat ears and noses for them to play dress up with. Kids have incredible imaginations and are really good at entertaining themselves when given the opportunity. No one ever had entertainment at birthday parties when I was a kid and we always had a great time.

DS 1 - his first bday was at my parents and we hired and music person.
His 2nd birthday was at our new house and had a pool party.

DS 2 - 1st bday was at our home too and a pool party.

We lucked out with warm weather for both summer boys.

We hired PLAYHOORAY for my son's first birthday party. They are the ladies who run the baby and me at my local library. They did such a wonderful job. They did a 1 hour program of songs, dancing, etc. We had kids 0-3yrs and all of them loved it and it gave the parents a break to socialize with one another.

check out their website www.playhooray.com

My DD's 1st birthday party was in May & we had her party at our house. We had a bounce house for 6 hours & an Elmo came for 1 hour to take pictures, play games and do giveaways. I also purchased tattoos, sippy cups that you color, crayons & bubble necklaces and had them out on a table for the kids to take take whenever they wanted and do them throughout the party. We had 44 kids at the party so I tried to keep the kids occupied as much as we can. We also had balls and things out for the kids to play with.
