What side do you sleep on?
Do you feel baby move more while laying/sleeping on a particular side? For awhile sleeping on my right worked, because if I laid on my left LO would move around like crazy and I thought I might be hurting her. But now laying on either side she goes nuts and I can't lay on my back w/o having shortness of breath. Any tips/ideas, I need sleep

My doctor said to not lay on my right side or my back because of reduced blood flow so I mainly sleep on my left side. Obviously we can't control where we end up throughout the night and I'll occasionally wake up on my back but I think the shortness of breath is what wakes me up. If I sleep on my back on an incline I can usually get comfortable and breathing isn't as difficult.

Re: What side do you sleep on?
At almost 38 weeks I'm just lucky to sleep t all! I sleep however I can fall asleep.
You're supposed to sleep on your side - left is better than right; sides are better than back. But I have severe heartburn most nights if I sleep on my side so I sleep on my back, sitting up.

I've found sleeping on my left side is a lot more comfortable than sleeping on my right. LO is moving around like crazy either way. I started sleeping on an incline this past week and its helped a little

I start on my left or back then she will switch spots and I get uncomfortable so I toss and turn till I find a comfy spot. She likes when I'm on my left she will or at least it feels like she is curled up in a ball on my left which after awhile hurts like hell.

Re: What side do you sleep on?
Lately sleeping on my right side is better. The left side ends up hurting me.

Technically you should sleep on your left side. It allows better blood flow to the baby. When I am not pregnant I sleep on my stomach so I guess now I have to change that now. Have you tried a pregnancy wedge or pillow?

Re: What side do you sleep on?
If I sleep on my right side, the baby kicks me. If I sleep on my left side, my hip hurts. Sometimes I end up on my back but the baby kicks me a lot then too. Needless to say, I can't sleep at all

Thanks for the input ladies. I guess this is just getting me ready for those real sleepless nights when she arrives.

I have a body pillow that helps with my inner leg/hip pain, but not so much with the kicking.

ITA However I would get chest pains if I slept too long on my left.. I'm 37 weeks now & I have been sleeping sitting propped up with pillows on the couch.

Re: What side do you sleep on?
At this point (33 weeks)...........I sleep on both sides. Because I have pregnancy carpal tunnel I have to keep switching sides because my hands and forearms go so numb if I stay on one side to long so I am constantly switching throughout the night. Sleeping comfortably is starting to get annoying these days.
