Overnight little trip with a 2 month old
In 3 weeks, when ds 2 months old, we are planning to take a 1 night overnight mini little trip by car. 3.5 hours away.
We are going to bring the rnp to sleep in, rtf formula for the car and when were not in the hotel room, in addition to powder and bottled water and bottles for in the hotel room. Of course, all the diapering necessities including disposable bags for diapers and a diapering pad, clothes, first med stuff God Forbid and obviously clothes, etc.
Im just looking for tips on other things to bring that Im not thinking of for a little trip away from home. Also, just tips in general for this overnight mini trip. I know its ambitious but I really feel we can do it..it will be a challenge but I believe in getting him used to doing things like this early on..and also, us, as parents getting used to things like this from the start so we can progressively work up to big trips, etc.

Overnight little trip with a 2 month old
Although a bit stressful, the earliest trips we took with DD were the easiest!
I always pack my whole diaper caddy stocked with diapers, wipes, ointment, bags, and disposable changing pads and keep it in the backseat for changes and then wherever you'll be changing LO once you arrive. Then a big bag with clothes, burp clothes, a towel, and a few washcloths, blankets, and an extra pack of diapers. Then I do a separate small bag with bedtime stuff that I need to pack in the morning when we go and want to find easily if we get back late. That usually includes the monitor, white noise machine, her musical seahorse and I also throw her meds, vitamins, and thermometer in there. I also always bring the carrier since that's good for sightseeing or just walking around. Just make a list of what you use each day and you'll be fine. Have fun!

It's not ambitious at all! In fact it's probably going to be your easiest trip. At that age they still sleep most of the day away and are just happy looking at things when they are awake.

Overnight little trip with a 2 month old
Took a trip with DD when she was 2 months. We went to DHs familys house in PA and its usually about a 2 hr drive. Since we had DD it turned out to be a 4 hour drive because he had to stop change her, feed her and things like that.
I packed some just in case things like a thermometer some baby tylenol, they live pretty far from a pharmacy and its not open 24/7. Dont forget your bath essentials if you plan on giving LO a bath there.

Don't stress over it. A) it is one night, and B) as long as you have formula and diapers your child will be fine! I think you got all the necessities and if you leave something home I assume there are stores where you are going!
Relax and have fun!

I agree completely - don't stress over it. When it was just Sean we took him everwhere, at every age (well, Colin came along when he was 2) but even then, we took both of them - that was more of a challenge.
One baby plus two adults is CAKE !! Have a great time!
And honestly, you don't need a ton of crap. You're not going to siberia, anything you may have forgotten, you can always pick up!
The stuff you'd normally carry in your diaper bag x4 is usually my rule for a weekend trip.
have fun!

Sound/white noise machine! Those helped DD sleep much more soundly in a hotel. We traveled for the first time when she was 10 weeks old and have gone on many trips since then, we always bring the sound machine and it helps a lot.

Re: Overnight little trip with a 2 month old
We went to Boston when DD was 3 months. It was a great trip! I would reccommend leaving when DC would nap so you could make it most of the way. One thing I almost forgot was a bottle brush, soap and paper towels or something to help the bottles dry. We also brought the RNP and DD didnt notice the difference, she slept great! We went to Disney when she was 9 months and what a chore to get her to sleep in the pack n play! It will be fun and one of the easier trips you will take. Have fun!
