I need a good 'fake' nail option ....???

I have TERRIBLE nails and cuticles - if I don't get a manicure every single week my hands are disgusting - dry, cracked, peeling - and then I end up bitiing and it's even worse!

I don't have the time to devote to a weekly manicure so I need something that will last a bit longer .....

Is there something I can do that won't look totally fake? I like the look of natural nails, not TOO short, but considerably shorter than most 'fake' nails I see .......I have very small nailbeds, but I work on a compute all day .....they can't be long.......

What are my options here? I really don't want to go the acrylic route -

TIA !!

I get gel manicures every other week - sometimes I can even wait 3 weeks if I get a lighter color. The nail polish stays put, doesn't crack or chip at all!

I would consider a Shellac mani.
Not a fake nail but such a nice, hard shell manicure that lasts over 2 weeks.
I love the way my nails looks when I get one.

I agree with the above. I sometimes get the gel manicures but in French instead of color. I get lots of compliments. Very natural, goes with everything, and lasts a good 2 weeks.

Totally a gel manicure!!! They are the best! I have 2 favorite parts - 1) once they are done applying it, it's dry! 2) it is indestrictible!!! nothing takes it off!

but then how does it come off when you need to change it?
I don't have time to be soaking every 2 weeks -
that kind of defeats the purpose -

ugh - I am just doomed to have disgusting hands until my boys are 25 years old !!

That's why I go for Shellac.
I can take it off at home.
Soak cotton balls in acetone and place on your nails- wrapped in foil
Leave on for 10-15 min
The polish should come right off- you can use an orange stick to peel it right off

I bought my own bottle of acetone. I put it in a little glass bowl and soak them myself - takes maybe 10 minutes...I do it after the kids go to bed at night
