Would you have your mom watch your babies?
If she had a cold? Just some sneezing and stuffy nosee and not a sick sick cold. I have a meeting I'd like to attand tomorrow night and she was going to watch them for a few hours. It's not mandatory but it would be nice to get out. They are only 3 mo. I'm leaning towards no because a little cold for them can be bad.

Re: Would you have your mom watch your babies?
For just a head cold- yes. Especially if it was work related and not me just running out with friends or shopping etc. My mom would be ok with that. If it was something like the flu or a stomach virus, then no

Re: Would you have your mom watch your babies?
Its like a fun work meeting for my second job. Id like to go because its a good discussion topic this month but its not mandatory at all. Ugh! I knew this would happen. Ill see how she is tomorrow. It would be during a feeding time and she is the type to hold them the whole damn time if they make a single peep.

yup! My DS is in daycare 3 days a week and is around plenty of germs. My Mom or MIL with a cold would actually be a vaction from germs for him.

Re: Would you have your mom watch your babies?
I personally wouldn't unless it was a real emergency type situation. If they got sick it wouldn't be worth it to me. Can anyone else watch them?

RSV in babies is the common cold in adults so definitely not!

Re: Would you have your mom watch your babies?
Yes... Especially if it was your only choice. She's an adult so I'm sure she knows not to hang all over them. She can put them in the swing or something so they're comfy without her having to hold the, I'm sure she'll keep washing her hands as well.

I wouldn't. I've been hearing about too many babies with RSV, hospital visits, and colds and coughs lasting for days, and nebulizer treatments. If you have a choice I would skip it. Plan something fun and get out once she gets better.

At 3 months, I am not sure. I would avoid it if possible. At 6mo or more I wouldn't hesitate.

Re: Would you have your mom watch your babies?
ugh I know! Im reluctant because I dont HAVE TO go. I remember how bad RSV was when my brother had it (hes 17 now) and my mom had to do the treatments, count respirations, go to the dr every few days. Everyone had the flu then and he caught it. No one else can watch them. DH works tomorrow night. I could even bring them since its informal, but they eat at 8:30 so it might be hectic and they wont want to sit in their seats. And I dont want them passed around, obviously. I just wanted to be sure Im not overreacting.

At 3 months, I don't think I would chance it. Knowing I didn't HAVE to go, I wouldn't. What if they come down with something, and then you have to miss something that is mandatory?
Plus, it is going to be ridiculously cold out tomorrow..and the flu is going around, I just wouldn't do it.

This. Totally.
But getting a cold for my DD usually turns into a nightmare since she has cough variant asthma. The cold itself is no big deal and she recovers quickly but she can have a god awful, persistent, torturous cough for weeks after having a cold. I like to avoid that when possible.
