How do you have your bedroom rug?

Perpendicular to your bed, so it extends past the footboard?

Centered under bed?

Runner/area rug on sides of bed?

I don't know what would be best for our BR & I want to look for rugs.

ETA: I have a photo of my BR in my "home album". The wall mirror is no longer in the sitting area, is not to the left of the dresser with a chair.

I want a rug in the sitting room 1/2 octagon & then thought a rectangle run 1/2 under the bed & going towards the dresser. But then do I do another rug in the area when you enter the room (where the chair & wall mirror is)?
