Is 8 month checkup necessary?

My dd has her appt on tues and to be honest, I'd rather stay far far away from that germ fest... Considering dd didn't get her 2nd dose of the flu shot, I'm very hesitant on stepping foot in there... To go or not to go, that is the question Chat Icon

TIA!

When did she get the 1st dose? Is she scheduled for the 2nd dose at this appointment? Is she scheduled for any other vaccinations? I know DS got something at 8 months (can't remember what right now though) What time is the appointment? If its earlier in the morning i would probably bring her, bring a couple of toys from home and keep her in the stroller in the waiting room.

If she's not scheduled for any shots, then I might consider skipping it.

Is 8 month checkup necessary?

We only had a 6 month appt, then a 9 month one. Assuming she is not getting any vaccinations you should be fine to skip it.

Never had an 8 month checkup for either of my boys. Same as pp- 6, then 9, then 12.

Same here. We had a 6 month, and DD will have a 9 month well visit. In between, however, we have to go a few times for vaccinations.

If she is scheduled for her second flu shot, I would go. I totally understand NOT wanting to go, but I feel like the flu shot is important

First dose was back in nov... I was suppossed to go back around Xmas but its a hectic time and we never made it there. Now I'm afraid of even taking her there! She is on the normal vaccine schedule so she is up to date. Appointment is in afternoon conveniently placed during nap time Chat Icon I think it's a disaster waiting to happen lol

ITA. I need to bring my DD for her second shot soon. I'll just ask them to bring us into an exam room to wait away from everyone else. Even though there is a separate sick area, not everyone follows that...

We had a 6 month check up and then nothing until 9 months.

I would probably call to see if they can still give her the flu booster or if it's too late. I probably would go if they're able to give it to her, if not maybe reschedule. I'm not sure a month will make too much difference though.
