Immune system
My DH and I made an appointment with another doctor to get a second opinion. We met with the doctor this week and after he reviewed my medical records he noticed that my immune system was never tested. I went for blood work this morning. He also re-tested my AMH and FSH and my AMH is now .86 instead of .16 and my FSH is 8.9 instead of 12.9. I have been taking a variety of supplements and I also do acupuncture every week. I have had two failed IVF cycles. I also looked on my medical records and the doctor notes an abnormally low white blood cell count. Does anyone have any thoughts? Or experienced something wrong with their immune system causing infertility?

Re: Immune system
I know immune disorders can cause problems with IF, but I am not up on the specifics.
I am so glad the supplements have been working. Please keep me updated if your numbers get even better, as i would like to tell my doctor about it as well.

Re: Immune system
I have immune issues... elevated cytokines, NK cells, etc... I wouldn't know what the actual levels they test are. I just call it "Reprosource bloodwork", which is the lab that my dr. test thru. That being said, yes, immune issues can definitely cause miscarriages, or failed cycles. I had multiple losses, even while on meds for it. So far this time around I'm hoping he managed to get them under control enough--- I will be 12 weeks on Monday, which is the furthest I've ever gotten. Good luck!

Immune system
immune disorders are usually not accurately tested for unless you see a doctor that specializes in that (usually just Dr. B or SIRM "believe" in immune causes of recurrent pregnancy loss or failed IVF). i had some immune issues too which were treated with a combo of lovenox and baby aspirin throughout the pregnancy and intralipid infusions during the first trimester. i gave birth at 33w due to pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome, and i believe that immune issues can predispose you to late term pregnancy issues like pre-eclampsia and preterm labor.
the immune system plays an extremely vital role at the earliest point in pregnancy. issues involving the turning on and off of receptors that protect the embryo from the mother's immune system and allow for proper implantation can cause IVF failures, chemical pregnancies and miscarriages, and as I noted above can also lead to late term pregnancy complications. if you think that you may have an immune issue you should absolutely see Dr. B or Dr. T as they really are the specialists in this field. good luck!!
