3D/4D Sono (Women 4 Women) (LIJ Scans)
Hey girls,
How is everyone feeling today?
I just went to my doctor appt (I'm 17 weeks today). Baby's great and still a strong heartbeat.
I go to Women 4 Women and while I was checking out there is a little sign that I either never noticed or now it's new. They are no offering 3D/4D sonograms in their office but charging $165. You get a bunch of stuff along with it though. Like 1 or 2 DVD's and a bunch of pictures to take home. You can only do it 25-28 weeks I think. I think for $165 it's not that bad and I love getting the video but I have a couple of questions if you girls can help.
I have my Anatomy Scan on the 28th at LIJ. Do they do 3D at all? We haven't had one yet of course and I'm dying to see this baby in 3D. I'm thinking if LIJ does 3D then I'll just get that. But then again I LOVE having the DVD of the baby moving around and I can show my family. Do I have to ask LIJ for it or do they just do it?
Also, has anyone done this at Women 4Women? It seems so cool but I'm wondering what other women's experiences are.

i had my scans at LIJ Katz center in new hyde park...they did turn the 3d/4d on for us and printed pictures for us - but no video
i would wait until after your next appt at LIJ before paying for one

Same. They turned it on, printed out a picture for us, but no video

When did they turn it on. Was this during your anatomy scan or an extra scan you had to pay for. Also was this at the center for maternal fetal health

25-28 weeks is a little early for 3d/4d. Usually you want to be at least 30w, closer to 33-35w since that is when the baby is putting on fat and looks more like a "baby."

They turn it on toward the end at the anatomy scan and at the growth sono

I didn't get it turned on at my anatomy scan but I had to go back 2 weeks later to check my cervix and they turned it on then. I know people say you don't get great pictures then but I got the cutest picture ever
