Our radiators are leaking! Anyone experience this?
We're in contract on a house (in Milwaukee) that has radiators. Our realtor walked through the house yesterday and told us there were huge puddles underneath 2 of the radiators. Apparently the puddles are about 3' x 6'. Even better, the puddles are frozen on top of the hardwood floors! Are you ***** kidding me?! We are out of state right now... won't be in Milwaukee until Friday. So it's not like we can run over there and clean up the puddles before they do more damage. And I don't think that should be our responsibility anyway!
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone in here has dealt with this before? The house is a foreclosure and has been vacant for more than a year. The house was supposed to be winterized, but now we're wondering if it ever was. We're hoping a pipe didn't burst? What's your experience with your leaky radiator? Was it an easy, simple fix, like tightening up some loose bolts? Or something more complicated and more ?
Praying this doesn't kill the deal for us.

We just dealt with a leaky radiator in our house. Turned out a valve needed to be replaced. Cost $225 for a plumber, but if we knew what we were doing I'm sure it would have been muuuuch less.
The only thing I would worry about in your case is the fact that the water was sitting there for who knows how long and what else might have gone wrong (like you said, frozen pipes). But I don't think this should be your problem anyway. If I were you I would talk to my attorney about it.
Good luck!

We had the same thing happen to one of our radiators. It was a coupler that the plumber replaced for us. It was awful, I had rain in my living room!
