Orlando/Tampa area - parks besides Disney?
We will hopefully be going to Florida in March. We stay with family who live midway between Orlando and Tampa. It's only 45 minutes to Disney, literally 5 minutes to LegoLand, and about an hour into Tampa.
We have a 3yr old who LOVES water and presumably water parks. Will probably do Disney again since he doesn't remember his 1st time there but looking for other things to do. Will also visit the Tampa Aquarium bc they have a great outdoor water area he loved. Not crazy about Busch Gardens, we did that.
Any suggestions for things to do in the area and places to visit? Theme parks included.
ETA: Anyone know of any water parks?

The Tampa Bay Aquarium is fantastic. Remember to bring suntan lotion, swim suits, and towels because they have a great outdoor splash area with a huge pirate ship. edit - sorry - did not realize you put the aquarium in the list already.

I know you said you are going to the Tampa Aquarium but maybe you'd want to see the Clearwater Aquarium instead. If you ever saw the movie Dolphin Tale, this is where the actual dolphin is. I definitely want to go here one day. My niece is going to FL in a few days and is going here (she's 5).

What about Universal Studios Islands of Adventure? They have Seuss Landing in there

We went to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium last Summer. My DD is a HUGE Winter fan. She absolutely loved every moment of it. The 2nd location with the movie props etc. was a huge hit. With that said, you should know it's more of a marine rescue facility than commercial type aquarium. It's run down, hot, crowded, it's just like in the movie. I know a few people that have been disappointed, but if you know what to except, and just want to see Winter, you will enjoy it. We got to watch them put her tail on for physical therapy, paint a picture, and swim with one of her dolphin pals.
We went to the MOSI in Tampa, and they have a really cute Children's area, if you are looking for something indoors as well OP.

DD (3yrs old) and DH loved Legoland! Not a far drive from Orlando. Smaller park = shorter lines! We enjoyed it very much!

DIdn't think of Seaworld, will look into that. My aunt literally lives 5 minutes from LegoLand. I wasn't sure about taking DS since he's only 3 but a PP said her 3 yo loved it.
Thanks everyone for the good suggestions?

Seaworld also has Aquatica, which is a water park. You could probably get a deal buying the two together. Legoland has an attached water area, but I believe they charge an additional fee for it. There are also the Disney watermarks and Wet n Wild. I haven't been to the Disney ones, so I cant really comment. And I remember going to Wet N Wild as a teenager and thinking it was awesome! I've been trying to hold out until my boys are a bit older and can enjoy it more. You woud probably ave to check their website to see if it would be worth it for a 3 year old.
