They both do pretty much the same thing. I would read the fine print though on anything you book through them. Sometimes the packages are missing elements that you would otherwise get booking directly through the vendor or with a traditional travel agent. The deal is also not always better than the deal you'd get through other means and at least with a traditional agent you have someone who is on your side. I recently had a client who decided to book air through Orbitz and they had a huge problem and the airline wouldn't help them because they were booked through Orbitz and Orbitz really wasn't willing to make it right. They went with the flow, but it basically cut half a day off their vacation.

Orbitz has the price assurance program. If you purchase a ticket and then that ticket drops in price and is purchased at that lower price by another customer, you get the difference.

Try kayak.com. They review all these websites when looking for the best price for your travel.
