Starting BCP today!

woo hoo!!

Quick question...the nurse told me that I will get AF after stopping BCP. I didnt think to ask at the time, but, will I have to wait for AF to come before starting injections? About how long after stopping will I get AF?

Just like if you were on BCPs for birth control, you will get a withdrawal bleed a few days after stopping the last active pill. It will start after all your hormone levels drop - usually about 3-5 days after the last active pill.

You will start your injections regardless of the withdrawal bleed as long as your hormones are at a good baseline level.

It hunk it depends upon the person. I stopped my bcp on Wednesday and got my break through bleeding Thursday night. I told the nurse and she said that was completely fine/normal. I started injections Saturday and had AF Unitl Monday morning.

GOOD LUCK!!
