My saline sono is thurs
and I'm having a total panic attack. I'm a complete pain wimp and am terrified about this. I cannot wait until it's over! They are also doing a FemVue, which will check the tubes and I don't know a lot about that part of the procedure so that freaks me out too.
Does anyone know if they can give me something for anxiety for this?

Is this an alternative to a hysterosalpingogram? I'm sorry, lots of  I am sure they can give you something if you call up and tell them you are anxious. I would take motrin before also.

I don't know what the FemVue is, but my saline sono took less than 5 minutes and was no worse than a pap. I didn't have any cramping at all. You won't need any meds for it. It's literally nothing!

the saline sono wasnt bad at all and I think the hsg caused more cramping for me..good luck

I had a saline sono a few months ago and didn't look it up beforehand because I didn't wanna get freaked out. Well it was over in under 5 mins from start to finish and I didn't even realize it was happening. He said he was done and I was like ummmm that's it???
It's NOTHING!

Totally didn't even realize it was going on. A small amount of cramping for under a min then it was all over. The more you focus on it the worse it will be. Try not to worry

Just wanted to update that it's over. The absolute worst part was the speculum. For whatever reason those really hurt for me. The rest of it I pretty much didn't feel.
Everything looked fine. So now I have to do an endometrial biopsy. I'm not sure I can handle another test with a speculum involved. 
Just wanted to edit and say that we decided not to do the FemVue to look at the tubes right now. Since I've had 2 chemicals recently he decided it was unlikely that there's a tube issue.

Glad it went okay. I'll be doing an HSG next cycle so I feel you on being worried. I guess we gotta do what we gotta do and hope something works....good luck.

THIS! My saline sono was painless.. and it was actually super cool to watch on the ultrasound screen. My uterus looked like it was a snowglobe. lol!
