Thanks so much!

Re: Grieving Taxes in Suffolk

I have and won. I used Mark Lewis. I submitted the paperwork (paid nothing). Several months later I received a letter saying I was denied but the company believed I was way overtaxed. They took it to small claims court. Then about a year after I first submitted the paperwork, I received another letter saying I won. They reduced my taxes by about $1400-$1500/year. The fee to Mark Lewis was half of what I won so it was in the ballpark of $750. I can't remember the actual figures.

Every year since, I receive a letter from Mark Lewis saying its time to grieve again. I fill it out with no cost to me.

Re: Grieving Taxes in Suffolk

We're in the process with the house we're about to close on (current owners started the grieving process) with All Island Grievance. From what I understand, the first claim is almost always denied (in many cases) and then they go to small claims court (as pp did). They said court date will be over the summer, so it's definitely not a quick process. But they do anticipate to save us a lot. The house is WAY over assessed. Hopefully they're right!
