Need peditrican recommendations!!
I've gone to the same practice and have been generally happy there (going on 4 years). Well today I just lost it. Tried making my son's 10mos and my older son's 4 year old WELL visit and next available is 4/6!! I think that is quite ridiculous. They are great seeing sick kids, but 3 mos is a bit excessive to me to wait. Plus, they only have a few week visits a day (for the largest practice in my area). I then here how they've grown and merged and that is why apt are so tight.
So, I'm in Holbrook. Can anybody recommend another practice? I need good hours (I work in NYC). Thanks!!

I use adolescent and pediatric medicine on union. DD is only 3 months and I haven't had a problem. They are open 7days a week.

that is the practice I'm referring about. I just called and its a 2.5 month wait for a well visit!!!!!!!!!! I never had a problem there either until today!! I'm floored actually.

I live in Holbrook and go to lake grove pediatrics. I've never had an issue with getting an appointment for well or sick visits. Dr. Goldberg is fantastic! She is the only dr in te office and really cares about her patients. 585-4440

I use peds first in medford. Very happy with them so far (DD is 8 months). I'm home so I am flexible with appointments so I can't speak to how easy it is to get later appointments.

. Eta: Im not sure of her hours. I always ask for early appointments.

I am in the same boat as you...have been going there for years and am now trying to find a new practice. Ever since Freed and Scherz left, and they were taken over by ProForma (or whatever the name of the company is), that place has become a numbers game. They just want to see how many patients they can get in and out. It's ridiculous!!!!

I agree. Dr. Goldberg is awesome as is the entire staff. Never have a problem getting an appt. They all know their patients. I've called her at crazy hours in the morning and as soon as the office opens they call to check on DS.
Recently we had a problem and DS needed a ct scan. She was able to expedite the whole process for us with the hospital and called right away with the results of the scan. Awesome.

If you like your Ped, the first thing I would do is call to speak to the Office Manager. Get her story on why the long wait times and then she can have a first hand listen to one of her important patients.
Maybe you will get better answers that way too!

I didnt relize this when we 1st started thered since i was a SAHM but now im a FTWM and it is a little hard to get a well visit for after 3:30pm. I also think the weekend hours are for sick visits as well....
Overall im very pleased with the practice love all 3 docters and staff so I wouldnt think about leaving but the hours are a little hard sometimes..

I switched from Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine to SV Pediatrics in Medford. I am very happy there...I'm not sure about their well visit hours honestly, because we go for well visits once a year at this point and I make them both on the same day when the kids and I are both home. They are great about sick visits...I have gone at 5:30 on a weeknight and on Saturdays...when my dd was very sick on a Sunday, the doctor and I spoke on the phone a few times and I sent her text messages with pictures of a rash she had.

This! I love Dr. Eisenberg.
I second Dr. Eisenberg (and there is also Dr. Patel). I've been offered appointments as late as 6-6:30pm.

Oh thats great to know!! Thanks so much i wasnt sure if they did regular schd apts on the weekends since they never seem to offer them maybe I will ask next time!
