Endometrin??

Has anyone been on it?
I know there are several; types of progesterone meds out there-

I was tested this Am for progesterone and my level was 8.8 my doctor felt it was low and wants me on it until i test next week

I was on it once. I asked about alternatives but this was best according to RE bc it absorbs better. The injection is IM and it is a thick liquid and I have heard its painful. There are pills too but they don't absorb as well. Besides the oozing and having to wear a liner all the time I didn't have any side effects.

How long do you stay on it?
I know atleast until i have my preg test, what happens after that?
and if I am no prego i am assuming it changes my cycles?

I was only on it for about a week, and stopped when I got AF. It should not alter your cycle at all If you are pregnant you still take it because it is the progesterone that maintains the pregnancy. I believe you continue to take it somewhere around 6 to 8 weeks when you have your first Sono. Probably depends on blood levels too.

I am currently on it and find out if I need to stay on it tomorrow from my most likely last beta

I have been on it 2x daily for the past 3 weeks. Its annoying and messy. In addition you can have some spotting which is likely to drive you nuts. This week I have definitely been starting to feel a little uncomfortable (a little itchy and burning) after inserting it.
I am hoping tomorrow my RE will tell me I can stop it soon.

question, i had this blood done at week 2 and i was 8.8
shouldnt it be alot higher for a BFP next week when i go for blood?

Is it possible for Endomentrin to work that fast?

Week later and this stinks- besides the leakage I feel like Af us coming - but trying to stay positive knowing that this is some of the side effects . Can I get AF on this med? I know some of the others progesterone meds stop Af from coming

I was told you wouldn't get your period on Endometrin so I always had to go to the doctor for a pg test. Good luck!

Thank you. I think you got your period because you didn't get pregnant, which is the reason a period normally comes. Taking progesterone can prevent a period from coming, but endometrin 100 mg once daily wasn't enough progesterone to do that. It's not unusual for women taking progesterone supplements to get their period, which is the way to know they didn't get pregnant. The ovaries make progesterone after ovulation, and when pregnancy doesn't occur, the ovary stops making progesterone. The level drops, which brings on a period. Had you been taking endometrin 3 times a day, your period probably wouldn't have started. However, since you're not pregnant, it's just as well to get your period, so that you can try again next month. Good luck!

I took 2 a day too. Not fun and I felt so gross. I felt PMSy too, but I think it was just bc AF was coming.
