do you start feeling your baby move as soon as you wake up?
If not, when? and how far along are you?
I'm 34w4d. I've been trying to get her to move since 6am and haven't felt anything.
When they say ur supposed to feel 10 kicks an hour, is that during any given hour?

Re: do you start feeling your baby move as soon as you wake up?
Sometimes, not always.
I never counted kicks.........even with my last pregnancy. As long as the baby was moving throughout the day I wasn't worried. I have found with both pregnancies the babies were more active at night when I am relaxing. There are points in the day I might not notice the baby moving at all either because I am not paying attention or they simply aren't active at that time.
I wouldn't worry about specific number of kicks per hour, as long as you're feeling the baby throughout the day things are fine.
ETA - I am 30.5 weeks right now

I have not been asked to do kick counts... i dont have an answer about how many kicks in what time period... but my OB told me if i go from breakfast to lunch with no movement to call. But she pretty much moves all the time... if shes not moving she has the hiccups...

Try drinking a glass of o.j. or iced water. If you don't feel anything within a half hour after drinking that, I would call for a check.

do you start feeling your baby move as soon as you wake up?
Thanks. I'm not sure I can take 5 more weeks of this. I'm obsessed with every movement or not movement and constantly worried and concerned. The closer I get, the more I can't seem to shake the worry that something's gonna go wrong. I've gone to L&D once in the past when I didn't feel her and everything was fine. For the past couple of weeks, i've been feeling her like crazy, watching my belly move and everything. Today, nothing. I hate this. Sorry for the vent.
Those of you who have read some of my past posts may know I tend to be a worrier to begin with, and i've never had anything this important to worry about in my life, so it's just making me crazy.

I've tried cold water, sugar, ate sweet cereal for breakfast, poking my belly... and nothing.

keep in mind, 34+ weeks the baby is GROWING by leaps and bounds. there are days when growth is more and the baby is quiet. you will notice busier days, I do at 37w. On quiet days, I just assume it was a large growth day. They are putting on about an oz per day at this rate!!!

Re: do you start feeling your baby move as soon as you wake up?
i have not been asked to do kick counts...my dr just asks if the baby is moving. i dont feel the baby moving that much throughout the day...it is rare that i wake up feeling the baby move. I spent saturday morning in bed on my side with a glass of OJ bc i was worried too and eventually it moved around. My baby appears to be nocturnal so i feel it mostly at night (although it probably has to do with laying down at night vs sitting at my desk during the day) im 35w5d

Re: do you start feeling your baby move as soon as you wake up?
My baby seems most active in the early morning so I usually feel her as soon as I wake up or even before I am due to wake up she wakes me up! I am 27w.

If you are feeling no movement I would rather be safe than sorry. Have you been sick lately? At 34 week's my sister had bronchitis and it limited her son's movements.

This is exactly how my baby is, some days she's super active, some days I just feel slight movements. Im 35 weeks so it's getting tight in there.
To the OP...drink oj and lay down, the baby will move.

I actually asked my doctor when I should start counting kicks and he looked at me like I was crazy! lol.. He literally said you never count kicks unless your really neurotic, which I was like really? I was kinda shocked cause I thought this was necessary.. I still worry all the time and Im only 26 weeks!
