Which do you think is easier for night time feeding:

a. Using ready feed to feed liquid formula, removing it from fridge, and heating it to room temp.

or

b. Boiling water, storing it in an air tight pitcher by my beside, then mixing pre-measured formula into it

Once I switched DS to powder formula he didn't like rtf anymore. But he may have just been picky.

Imo, I would pre measure the water into a bottle, and pre measure the powder into a storage container that way. I used room temp Brita water for DS and will again for Chat Icon

I FF my DS. I never kept formula near my bed. I would go downstairs use room temp bottled water with powder. I never pre measured either.

When I am up I am up so there was no trying to lot fully wake or anything and the minute and a half it took me did not harm DS.

I honesty just never wanted a mess inte bedroom. Yup spilled bottles a few times by accident. Also DS was colicky so we always fed DS out of the room so the other one could sleep.

i preferred read to feed because the bubbles in powdered made her much gassier. i used only ready to feed before 5 months or so. after that powder was fine and we would use them interchangeably based on what was on sale.

honestly i wouldnt make any decisions until the baby is here because sometimes, especially with feeding, their behavior will dictate what you do/use instead of it being a decision that you make alone.

When DD was first born we used the nursettes. All we had to do was replace the cap with the nipple and feed. Now that she's taking way more than 2 ozs we keep premade bottles in a ice pack cooler and warm it up. We bring the cooler with bottles and the bottle warmer up to the bedroom so we don't leave. DD still sleeps in our room and we don't have to leave our bedroom until we are up for the day.

I never boiled water, used tap run through the Brita pitcher. I used RTF formula for the first few weeks because I had a ton of it but then switched to powder. I used Playtex Drop Ins so it took less than 2 minutes for the bottles to warm up, I would just throw the bottle into a mug of hot water from the Keurig. So easy. Chat Icon

we always left a Brita pitcher sitting out on the counter with my son. never had to heat. just used room temp.

this time around, we got this little contraption that keeps water at a constant temp (you change the water daily) so we will leave that on the counter. Put filtered water in it. Warm bottles instantly!

This is what we plan on using. At least for the first few months since they're up the most in the night

crashing- we use RTF, (our ped told us only RTF for the first 4 months anyway) its super convenient and that outweighs the extra cost for us.

I'll give another suggestion, we used brita water, filled the bottles up before bedtime with room temperature water to the correct amount. Then used one of these

All I had to do was get the baby, put the fomula into the bottle, shake and feed. Chat Icon

Neither one of my kids could stomach rtf formula.
