We used them to go to Hawaii and it was such a good deal. I just plugged in some numbers for you and it looks like $1200-1500 per person.

I went to Hawaii in the fall for my honeymoon. We did 3 islands and stayed in moderate hotels. I used points for our rental car so we paid $5,000 for all of our airfare, including the interisland airfare and and for our hotels.

Spending $5,000 in May for 16 days, 2 islands, inter island flights and upgraded rental cars, high end hotels. We used points for flights to and from Hawaii.

This is our 4th trip there. The time of year, islands you visit and hotel wish list greatly affects the price. Also I disagree with the statement you don't need a car. The only island you maybe able to get away without a car is Oahu - although we've alway rented cars while there.

wow, a few of you had gotten great deals! We went 2.5 years ago for our HM, we spent almost 7k and we did 4 nights in Oahu and 6 nights in Maui, we stayed at the Hyatts on both islands with "semi ocean view"... so trip included airfare, hotel, transfers to/from airport, rental car on Maui, and a few activities (we booked USS Arizona Memorial and a Luau through the travel agent in this package). I can't even believe we spent that much on a vacation but trust me it is SO worth it! I really believe if we hadn't gone for our HM we probably wouldn't have ever gone.

I think it depends on how many islands you plan to visit.

We went a few years ago (before kids). We only went to Oahu and I think we spent around $5,000.

It definitely depends on the islands you visit, etc.

Oahu is actually the most reasonable island to visit. Lots of hotels means lots of competition for tourist dollars. Also, there are more flights to that island than any other.

The trip we're taking in May would have cost us easily $7,000-$8,000 if we did it in say, February or March. The beginning of May is a "shoulder" season in Hawaii.

Late September/October/November are also good times to visit as far as prices go.

We spent a bit over 9k (just dh and I) and we did it frugally! Now that we are a family of 4, it's going to be much more expensive. It's def. worth going, we are dying to go back! It's good to rent a car, we rented on Maui and Kauai . We didn't rent on Oahu.

Dh and I got back from Hawaii in August I think we spent around 9k too. Im crazy into planning things out so i had almost everything budgeted fown to a T we also stayed for 13 days if that makes a difference. But this was my 3 visit and would do it again in a heart beat!
