Baby Nurse
Hi all,
Looking for a baby nurse to stay with me for at least two weeks after my 2nd child is born. Anyone know of someone good? Or even a regular daily nanny?
Thanks much!

Re: Baby Nurse
i am debating on doing this too... i have had friends & family use Austin Agency 718-268-2700 I believe the guys name is Rick he is based on queens but his nurses go all over (NY, CT, NJ etc). My friend has 4 kids (youngest is 2yrs old)...used his company with all kids and had different nurses each time and was happy with them all My friend just used them in November and was also happy with the nurse she had

Re: Baby Nurse
What does a baby nurse do exactly? I've seen friends request recommendations on FB too. I'm pregnant with my first and curious. Thanks.

from what i have been told, they stay with you 24/7 and take care of the baby. it is up to you how involved or not involved you want them. they will help you nurse, they will basically care for the baby if that is what you want them to do. i was told its great to have as a ftm bc they can help you change diapers, clean the umbilical cord and also allow you to get some sleep at night (they will wake up wtih the baby if that is what you want). they will also do the babies laundry etc....anything related to baby. my friend said if it wasnt for her nurse she would have given up on breast feeding but she really helped and encouraged her.
i also have a friend who used them with her second child and she said its helpful bc it allowed her to spend time with her other child as they got used to having a baby sibling in the house instead of focusing on the baby.
im considering it bc DH doesnt get time off of work...so he will take 3-4 days off and that is it! as a ftm i would prefer the help - from DH or a nurse...anyone!!!

Re: Baby Nurse
Thanks for the info. DH is probably going to take 2 or maybe even 3 weeks when LO arrives. We are also moving close to my parents for the time being and they will only be about 5 minutes away. I can see having a baby nurse being very helpful. May be an option for when I have more than one (god willing). I think I may hold off for the first one and see how it goes. Hopefully, I won't regret it!

Re: Baby Nurse
I was actually thinking about this as well, to help me get used to two babies, plus i have a 5 year old, will be recovering from C section and DH can only take 1 week off from work.
Does anyone have an idea what the cost is?

i dont remember for sure, but I think it was somewhere around $175 per day and it was a 7 day minimum (full time, live in)

OUCH..but for 24/7 care, that makes sense. I wonder if they can do just half a day instead of live in full time..I'll have to investigate. THANK YOU!
