numbness in fingers?
I have this. It's horrible. Mine started out the same way as yours... just numbness in the mornings. Now I can barely sleep because the numbness and pain in my fingers wakes me up every hour... sometimes the pain from the numbness feels like frostbite and is so bad I feel like crying... I wear the wrist braces but it hasn't helped me much... i get the numbness during the day too now but not nearly as bad... they say it should go away within a few weeks after giving birth... sorry you're having to deal with this too... hope yours doesnt get as bad as mine...

Re: numbness in fingers?
Are you taking more than 100mg of vitamin B6 everyday by any chance? too much B6 can cause numbing.

Re: numbness in fingers?
sounds like carpal tunnel i suffered with it for almost 2 years until i opted for surgery. fortunately yours is probably pregnancy related (mine was not) so it will go away after the baby is born
try to get the braces and sleep with them on - they keep your hand in a steady position to make sure the blood flows to the fingers throughout the night also do some stretches with your hands throughout the day (one is called a prayer stretch but im sure if you google carpal tunnel stretch youll get some info)

Re: numbness in fingers?
yes I had this with my first pregnancy and it came back with a vengeance this time...I bought a good brace at Walgreens from Futuro - it's black and it supports my wrist and hand very well.

Re: numbness in fingers?
I have this too, it's called pregnancy carpal tunnel syndrome. It started around 20 weeks for me but now at almost 30 weeks it's much better. I still get a little numbness in my right fingers but not the intense stiffness and pain I was getting early on. Everyone says it goes away after pregnancy.

I, too, had severe carpal tunnel (17 weeks) my first pregnancy and got the cortizone shots from Dr. Teplitz which didnt work ...(later to find out that they were done incorrectly) and I developed it again at 22 weeks my second pregnancy. It was unbearable pain, constant and numbness to the point my hands were useless... Im currently 32 weeks pregnant and I couldnt take it anymore and not sleeping. I went to my BIL's uncle who is an OrthSurgeon (Dr. Pidoriano in Westchester) and he did my shots again with lidocane and I have been able to sleep like a baby (less the trips to the bathroom :) but I highly recommend getting the cortizone shots. They arent the most pleasant but well worth it. Just make sure you have someone to help you do things (especially if you have other kids) for that day and the following one :)
Feel better!!!!

numbness in fingers?
PS. Mine is pregnancy related. Hormones from being pregnant cause swelling esp C3-C7 which holds the nerves to your arms...which in turn causes tingling, numbness and pain... :(
