How involved are you/were you in planning your shower?
I originally didn't think I was having one. Then I overheard that mil was paying for the venue and my bfs were planning it. Now I think my sister is involved. Not sure. I'm staying out of it. I just said I want to know the date so I can get my hair done.
My bridal shower was enough stress. I'm staying out of it.

I was not involved at all with my bridal shower. My mother was dead set on it being a surprise. My mom and sister are going to give me my baby shower and I said I just wanted to also know the date so I could be wearing an outfit I like and my hair done. The rest of the details I don't care about.

How involved are you/were you in planning your shower?
After the stress of my bridal shower my mom made sure I was not involved at all. It was a surprise so not even the date. I gave an idea for a theme and requested books instead of cards. And that was all of my input.

My sister and mom would ask me if I liked this or that and take my input and they based the theme on the theme of his nursery... but other than being asked for my opinion they did everything. If people are handling it there is no reason to get involved. The way I see it is that I will return the favor someday!
For my bridal shower I knew the color scheme and the date/location (which my mom picked) but that is all.

If everyone was very involved I wouldnt have been, but my mom and mil have no clue and neither does my sister so they neeed help with guest list, theme, etc. I was very involved with everything.

i designed and mailed my invites
i did my favors
helped pick the place and menu
shower is this weekend 
i originally was not having one...then my mother and DH convinced me to have it and since it was so last minute i just said i would help out any way possible. so we planned it with 5 weeks notice

I was involved in picking the day, due to busy season and the holidays, etc. we had to do it early. Other than that, I did not get involved with the place, food, or anything else. My sister wanted to make homemade applesauce as the favors....so she asked if that was ok, that's about it!

Originally i wasnt involved at all. But after Sandy, and living with my parents it was hard to hide anything... it was supposed to be cancelled but i could hear them talking about it... i put my favors together with my mom and sister, put the prizes in bags and bought the movies that were given with a few of the prizes, and i picked the food...

I told DH and my best friend that I want nothing to do with my shower. My mom is a total control freak and won't listen to anything I say (I asked her to call MIL to at least let her know that my parents are doing the shower and check the date and my mom bite my head off). So for that reason I told DH if he has a problem, he can talk to my mom but I don't want to hear about it. I planned a wedding and know how this is going to go down. My mom is going to tell MIL something, MIL won't like it but will b*tch to DH or SIL and then I'll have to take care of it. OR MIL will pretend she was never told and throw a tantrum. So I just want to know the date so I can look pretty and THAT'S IT!!!!
Sorry there was a little bit of a vent in there LOL

I know the date and possibl where it will be but that is all. I did not want a suprise since I want my hair and makeup done that day:)

I had my entire bridal shower planned for me and it was a surprise. For my baby shower, I've been helping with everything. My mom is paying for it, anyhow.
