if you use or used a rock n play...
did you use a bouncer as well?
I plan on using the rock n play for sleeping for the first month or so before i transition dd into the crib. do you think i need a infant bouncer as well? arent they essentially doing the same thing?

if you use or used a rock n play...
My bouncer was useless... Dd used it maybe 5x. It just wasn't her thing I guess. We only used the rnp for sleep. The godsend was the swing to be honest.

I had a bouncer and rnp we never used bouncer so i sent it to my mom for when she had DD she uses it there all the time

I barely used my bouncer once I got the RNP.
ETA: My ds was big on the swing, though, so we did use that. We didn't have an RNP with our first, but he hated the swing & lived in his bouncy chair during the day - it was his favorite place to be.

They are not the same. I used both. The rock n play was used for sleeping. The bouncer was used for when she was up. She would play with the toys hanging over the bouncer and used that longer than the rnp. RnP was solely for sleeping.

Didn't use the bouncer much. DD slept in it a few times when she was first born and I was too nervous to put her in the swing. After that she'd only sit in it to play if I sat with her and played. We used the RNP for naps, traveling, and just to let her chill.

We have both. Both like the bouncer but one DD goes in it more because of reflux. Its more upright. I got it because I remember my nephew living in it. Its good for feeding solids before they can really sit up ion a high chair.
PS, they both sleep in the rnp.

I can see from the PP's that every baby is really different! We have a RNP and we use it for napping, and he chills out in there all the time with toys now (he's 15 weeks). We didn't have a bouncer originally, but my MIL had one and he LOVED it, so we got one. We had a swing and he didn't like that much (thankfully we had borrowed it). It's nice to have a variety of places to "park" them throughout the day.
So, I am glad I have both, but of the 2 I use the RNP much more.

We use the RnP for sleeping (and napping the first couple of months - now it's just for nighttime) and the bouncer for while she's up and "playing".

my dd would only sleep in the bouncy seat at night from weeks 4-10. she slept in the bassinet before that.
we only used to rnp for some naps and as a place to put her down

DD sleeps in the RNP. I don't get the play part in the name since it came with just one silly little stuffed animal. But DD loves the bouncer seat. It allows her to sit and she loves to kick the toys on the toy bar. The bouncer is more for play and the RNP is for sleep. The swing is also great for naps.

We used the bouncer ALL the time. I made sure to get her used to the RNP only for sleeping. If she was just hanging out during the day, she went in the bouncer.

YES , more surfaces they lay on the better IMO ! you want to try and avoid flat head or their heads in one position that is accomplished by different positions all day long. plus it gave me a nice routine

The RNP was just like a bassinet or crib to us.
It stayed in our bedroom
The bouncer was what she was in all the time during the day.
She would fall asleep and nap in there too during the day
I couldn't have lived without my bouncy seat
