Question for those whose car have leather seats
Did your car seat scratch your leather? Does anyone use those car seat mats to avoid them or you just did without? DH insisted on them....but I think it may be a waste of money.
Thoughts? TIA!

Re: Question for those whose car have leather seats
If you go have your carseat installed professionally, they will remove the pad underneath. Apparently it's a big no no. When i was about to have my DS, we went in to have the seat checked and he pretty much removed everything I had set up... The seat protector, the window shades and mirrors. It was annoying, but better safe than sorry I guess!
ETA: My leather seats didnt scratch at all, but there are impressions where the seat lies. It will prob bounce back once we remove the seat.

Ohhhhh good to know! We were going to make an appt to have it checked. Did you have the mirrors to see the baby? Were those ok?

Re: Question for those whose car have leather seats
With DS, I had leather seats and the carseat did not rip the leather- just left an annoying imprint that disappeared after a while.

No stretching on my seats either. I also moved seat every few months (when out of infant) so there was minimal wear on seats.

Question for those whose car have leather seats
While car seat mats are a no no, when a certified tech installed my carseat, they put a piece of shelf liner underneath to help prevent the carseat from slipping. That is apparently ok.

Re: Question for those whose car have leather seats
Both DH and I have leather seats in both cars. We have used the seat protectors since day one. We got it at Buy Buy Baby.
