Crinone
Hello I havent been on in a while i was taking a break from everything.. I am back... so i did my "last" iui cycle this past month and i am in my 2 WW. friday they said i had to start on Crinone progesterone... anyone ever use this? I started this morning and not 100% on why.. I know my Progesterone levels were low does that mean i less of a CHANCE to get prego this month? I had like 9 folicles this time. 2- 19.5,1- 14.5,3-14,2-13 and 1 -10 is that good numbers? I know the 19 are great... wanted more in the 18 area but they didnt want to wait due to multiples. Anyway let me know if anyone has taken this medicine and how they felt on it If this doesnt work its IVF for me!!
thanks

Crinone
ok first off, most REs use some form of progesterone prophylactically. if your progesterone is already low you DEF need to be on something if you want to get/stay pregnant. low progesterone can inhibit implantation, but taking crinone vaginally will usually fix that issue. your chances are def lower of getting and staying pregnant with low progesterone if its untreated. but treated your overall chances of implantation are pretty much the same as they would be if you didn't have low progesterone. its a very very common issue, and i wouldnt think twice about taking it. as far as side effects just put it in RIGHT before bed and wear a pad/pantyliner for drippage. its better than suppositories. also dont be surprised if in a few days white chunks start coming out of you, it's from crinone and its normal even though its pretty yucky. also dont read into ANY pregnancy symptoms at all - progesterone will mimic all of them.
as far as the follies go - did you trigger? i wouldnt really count anything more than the 19s. its unlikely the 14s and under would catch up (although possible). but two is plenty and you really shouldn't have too many otherwise you run a higher risk of multiples with IUI.
good luck!

Re: Crinone
Thank you for responding! I was nervous about taking the progesterone since I never had to but maybe I really needed it! I thought they would want the 2 19's to get bigger before my trigger shot but I guess they were worried about the others getting bigger! I use Gonal F And ovudral ! Thanks for the advise and knowledge on Crinone!

if you are on fertility meds anything over 16 is generally considered mature. also the ovidrel shot will help mature any follies that are close. as far as the progesterone goes, i would probably opt to take it every cycle just in case. it is pretty common to have low progesterone esp on medicated cycles since the hormonal fluxes are artificially created so your body isnt naturally reacting the same way it would in a normal ovulatory cycle.

Re: Crinone
the cycle i used crinone was the cycle i got pregnant... i dont know why i just had a feeling that my progesterone level was off (even though doc didn't say anything) because it always seemed my LP was on the shorter side, so i asked to use it.

Crinone
I had a bad reaction my last IVF cycle while on Crinone. It's progesterone in oil for me going forward!

Re: Crinone
I used Crinone when I got pregnant with my DS after a medicated IUI cycle. I had low progesterone. Started during the 2ww. It's annoying but other than that, I didn't have any side effects.
Using it again this time around. My progesterone about 4 weeks in was borderline so I started Crinone then. Finding it more annoying this time around.
