Re: shoes?
Before my son was really pounding the pavement and was in walking shoes all he wore was Robeez, he still wears them as slippers I too wanted something to keep his feet warm and its the same as barefoot. Plus he could not get them off!
Similiar to Robeez is a brand called Bobux
He did have another pair of adorable slippers called Padders, they were corduroy with a plaid lining and soft bottom, but I cannot find them anywhere anymore.
You could also check out Preschoolians they have a soft bottom shoe. sometimes they have a web coupon and the shoes are something like $8.
Stride Rite also has a "crawler" line, but I thought it was too $$ for a shoe they wouldn't really be walking in.

Re: shoes?
I always got stride rite and made sure I always kept measuring his feet. They need new shoes about every three months.

Re: shoes?
I also brought sride rite at the Riverhead outlets. Sometimes I stocked up. They have good prices out there. They said if you ever got hand me down shoes to make sure there are no imprints of anothers babies foot in the shoe. Otherwise your babies foot could follow the growth of the other babies foot.
