i wouldnt do it if you are on any meds cause it can def screw up the OPK. if you are being monitored closely you do not need it at all. OPKs are known to give misleading readings as well so if you are the worrying type its DEF not worth it.
that being said if you don't feel you are being monitored close enough then use them. but then find a new doctor, because you should feel confident enough in your treatment that you don't have to use OPKs (unless they tell you too which some REs do). good luck!

Re: IUI and testing
If you're being monitored, there's no reason to use an OPK. And I'd strongly encourage you to trigger, rather than use a natural O so you can better time your IUI.

IUI and testing
Ask your RE. Mine told me to start using the OPK 2x/day starting on CD12. If I got a smiley, then I had to call the office, go in for bloodwork and u/s and then potentially sch IUI for the following day (depending on test results). I ended up getting a smiley around CD17 which sent me into a frenzy b/c I totally was not ready. I went in for all my tests and it turned out to be a false positive. I ended up not ovulating until CD25 and I triggered.

My unmedicated cycle we were told to use it to track O but once we started to trigger there was no need for it
