Does it have to be a onesie?
Now that winter is here and it's colder, I'd like dd's back to be covered but I think a size 24 onesie won't fit..what are the other options?

what about a 2t undershirt, 2t is longer and you can put a sweater or shirt over it.

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
Am I the only one who finds 24 month onesies weird? lol. I always think of onesies for babies. Like after 12-18 months I stop putting them on my children. I can see why you'd use them for warmth...totally. I just always found the larger they are the stranger they look!
To answer your question...yes we put t-shirts or undershirts under sweaters on our 2.5 year old in the winter.

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
i still use onsies for undershirst and DD will be 2 on January 1st.
Carters 24 months are huge on her still. I find that carter brand onsies last a lot longer than the month it states. she still fits in 12 months
i know asked for alternatives just wanted to let you know if you wanted to still use a onsie to try carters

i still use onesies at 19m and i dont see stopping anytime soon. DDs room is the coldest in the house and I always put a onesie under her PJs in the winter. sometimes i only snap one snap on the bottom if shes running around while im getting her dressed. i would use undershirts but i fear they will ride up and be useless under her other clothes, especially during the day when we are picking her up a lot and she's always tugging at her clothes.

No you are not alone. Whenever I see the big onsies for 24 month olds I always think of the main character in a Christmas story when he had to wear the pink footed bunnie pajama. Lol

But what about bigger babies? Not being snarky, just asking your thoughts. My ds is 9 months old and wearing some 18 month clothing! Its quite possible he will be wearing 24 months by a year so its not like im dressing my 4 year old in a onesie... Even if he may look like a 4 year old! Lol.

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
DD is almost 3 and potty trained so we can't use onesies. I bought a package of 2T camisoles for her to wear under sweaters

You can find larger sized white onesies from Hanna Anderson, Gerber, or essentialwhites.com
When it's really cold out I put a sleeveless type onesie underneath my son's PJs for the same reason you mentioned--so his back stays warm. He only wears the cotton 2 piece pajamas and the onesie solves the back problem.

Some brands have extenders - with snaps so it extends it about 2-3". The snaps on Carters/Gerber are different so check the brand.

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
DS is 3 and I have some 2T onesies that I can still get him into.. I bought extenders for them so they fit better.. I HATE bare bellies.. I also bought some undershirts but they still ride up!

You're not the only one! I stopped putting onesies on my kids around 18 months. So much easier to just use undershirts.

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
I stopped around 18 months b/c of potty training. ds1 didn't train until like 29 months but I wanted him to just get familiar w/ underwear and pants etc. I can see wanting onesies for warmth and also b/c they keep diapers on so nicely, but for the potty reason I quit using them. My ds1 is average size and at almost 3 he still fits in a 24mth carters onesie- a few times after the pool this summer I used a leftover at grandma's house.

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
DS is 2.5 and still wears a onesie everyday under clothes. He fits in the Carter's 24mos no problem. A t-shirt isn't going to solve the issue of having their back exposed to the cold.

Does it have to be a onesie?
Dd wears a 3t shirt now because she is tall and needs it for length...I'd e open to some onesies maybe but don't see anywhere larger than 24 mos and buying a 4t undershirt for length seems silly because it would be big..I don't want to spend a fortune if I don't have to either lol

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
Ds is 16 months and wears 18 or 24 months. I have a few onsies but 90% of the time he just wears a shirt and pants!! He is not cold, belly doesn't show and diaper remains intact!! If I was going to take him outdoors for a few hours and it was cold I would use one. I am a very busy girl and Wil save time whenever possible so an extra layer of clothing makes me able to dress him quicker!! I don't even use sleep sacks on my infant so my house is always toasty!

No, I don't find it weird. If DC still needs/uses/fits then why not?
My DD is 3.5 (on the small side -- just starting to fit into 3T clothes) and she is baby-like due to her disability (doesn't walk independently yet and is def nowhere near potty-training. So yes, we still use onesies and one-piece PJs on her. They keep her nice and warm. She still fits into the Carter's 24mos onesies with no problem!

Re: Does it have to be a onesie?
DS will be 3 in March, and he's still in a onesie. He's big for his age. I get the largest onesies from Hannah Anderson. The only place I've found regularly stocked 3T onesies!
