i like the fact the vista has the bassinet and can add a 2nd child, but the cruz is much lighter..what are your thoughts?

I'm getting the Vista for a couple of reasons:

Bassinet - I'm having a May baby and will use it for walks. Also will use it as a bassinet in our bedroom if needed in the beginning.

- Rumble seat attachment is great for when a second baby comes.

HELP CHOOSING BETWEEN UPPABABY VISTA AND CRUZ

For those of you who have it and have used the rumble seat is the older child's view completely blocked?

I know I shouldn't pick a stroller based on possibly having a second child in the future but I would hate to not be able to use it when #2 comes along... this is why I have been to BBB about a thousand times and have left without the stroller each time! Chat Icon

looking back knowing I would not be able to use it as a double, I would still buy it. I loved it for 18+ months and could still be using it today but got a 2nd hand city mini which was just lighter for the summer. I am 100% going back to it when DD arrives. If I have both kids, I have a double I will use but since DS will be almost 3 by the time DD arrives, he may not even want to be in the stroller.

LOVE the vista. I think my favorite part about it is being able to use the frame as a snap and go. Moves so well, HUGE basket, bassinet option and then the toddler seat when DD is ready.

That is a good point! We would like to have 3 years in between kids so like you said he may not even want to be in the stroller by that point! I am going to blame baby brain on not realizing that on my own!!! Chat Icon

Re: HELP CHOOSING BETWEEN UPPABABY VISTA AND CRUZ

I like it so far but DS is only 3 months. I've only used the bassinet attachment for walks. If I'm going shopping I attach the car seat to it. My only complaint is that it takes up so much room in my trunk. Other than that it rolls really well and it's easy to fold up. If you don't mind buying last years model albeebaby.com usually has a sale on the older model with no tax/shipping charges.

You can get the standing board for him.

Re: HELP CHOOSING BETWEEN UPPABABY VISTA AND CRUZ

I hear the cruz is coming out with a bassinet february 2013..so if thats the case, the cruz only has the 2nd seat option over the vista. However, I don't know if I'd get use out of the 2nd seat. A. not knowing when my 2nd child will be B. Who knows if the older child still wants to be in the seat. Do i still get the vista, thinking i may have kids close in age that would both want to be in the seats?? so frustrating!!

HELP CHOOSING BETWEEN UPPABABY VISTA AND CRUZ

I have the Vista, and when I bought it was with the intention of using as a double right away, since our nanny watches 19 month old DD and my 16 month old nephew (since my nephew was three months old). My nephew usually uses the toddler seat that comes with it since DD kicks him if she is up there! Neither one of them complains about the rumble seat, BUT they do only like it when they are facing each other. I personally never used the bassinet - we always just used it as a snap and go, so I wouldn't buy it for that. I intended on using it in the house and never did - DD preferred the rock n play. I will say that the stroller is very heavy and hard to close. Not sure if they improved that in the newer models, but it can be a real PITA when you are out and trying to close it and get it in the car quickly.

Re: HELP CHOOSING BETWEEN UPPABABY VISTA AND CRUZ

I have the Cruz and LOVE it...it's the perfect size and has all the benefits of the Vista except the ginormous wheels and bassinet (and the Cruz will have a bassinet soon if you need it - we didn't miss it). It's more narrow and lightweight but has the huge basket and look/feel of the Vista. We live near the city and have a car so the versatility was key for us.

ETA: The Cruz seat reclines 180 degrees and with the infant insert a newborn is very comfortable.
