Good Sam C-Sections

Im so nervous, its unreal. Just found out that I will be going in, tomorrow or Friday.

can you tell me your experience please??!

some of my fears/concerns specifically are...

im super super claustrophobic and am terrified of my hands being tied down. i know this is just policy but any advice on how to deal with this? and also, the sheet being so close to my face making me feel closed in?

im scared of freaking out about being numb on my chest/heart area and feeling like i cant breathe.. (are you numb on your chest?) and also scared that being totally flat and my head not raised that ill also feel like i cant breathe.

of course nervous about recovery and pain and all that but that is what it is...

oh and really importantly, im upset that i know DHs arent really allowed to stay overnight. but with having just had a csection especially the first night, that sounds crazy. i baby is with me, ill have to call the nurse every two minutes. i am going to feel forced to not have the baby with me since i wont be able to reach to get him, etc. and this upsets me. What was your experience at Good Same like, with dh and staying over

I had a csection at Good Sam 11 weeks ago and my hands were not tied down. The labor and delivery staff were wonderful and really helped to calm my fears, cause I was a nervous wreck. My Dh sat right by my head the entire time and that defintely made me feel better. Honestly, I kind of zoned and slept through the entire csection, but before that the only part that was numb was from the waist down. I know that they say DH is not allowed to sleep over, but if you do not have a roomate, you can ask the nurse if he can sleep in your room and they will most likely say yes. I was allowed to have my dh sleep in my room 2 of the 5 days I was there and my mom slept with me 2 nights. I requested that my room be the last to give me a roomate, and on the last night I was there, they gave me a roomate and both my dh and her dh slept in the room. I didn't care that her dh was there and she didn't care that mine was there, we both just kept our curtains closed. I had an issue with one of the nurses denying me my pain meds, cause she read my chart wrong and when I requested my meds at 7pm she said that I "had just received them at 6" so I said that was at 6AM and she argued with me, when another nurse came in she looked at the chart and confirmed that it was 6am. But all of the other nurses on the floor were wonderful.

Good Sam C-Sections

I had my daughter via Csection in September 2011. I will be having a repeat Csection between now and Jan 16th (depending on dy appts). I bounced back from my Csection faster than my roommate who had a v delivery. I was not tied down on both arms. The arm that had an Iv was butility not tightly. I really don't remember the sheet being all that close. Just try to focus on the baby coming. Somehow the adrenaline of waiting for the baby's cry made me forget about everything else. Good luck and congrats in advance!!

Re: Good Sam C-Sections

Mine was a last minute c at good sam. And I had no warning so I was freaked but I also have panic disorder too sigh. First. Ask for your head to be elevated a bit. I felt awful with it so low. When the increased my epi for the c I lost my mind and thought my lungs were colapsing. Also though the didn't tie my hands down but threatened to bc I was shaking so b ad loil. So... Imo if I had known what side effects and that I was having a c I would still have been crazy nervous but I wouldn't habve a panic attack kwim? Also before they give u epi tell the doc ur fears and that should help. Gl!!!!
