PPD (TB test) during pregnancy
Is this safe? I have looked online and it seems to be, I just hate injecting anything unneccearily into my body during this time. I am required to get one for my job. I have a OB appt on 1/9 and I'll discuss it with her. Anyone ever get this during pregnancy?

Re: PPD (TB test) during pregnancy
I am required to have a PPD test every year. While I no not due for my next shot until June, many of my coworkers have had theirs planted during pregnancy.

I also have to have one done every year. I'm actually overdue. I saw my OB last week and he said it's fine once you're out of your first trimester. I was going to do it this week but was lazy so now I have to wait until after the new year.

I need one every year for my job. My doctor's office required a note from my OB saying that it was okay for me to have one.

Re: PPD (TB test) during pregnancy
I was required to have the PPD test each year too. When I became pregnant, I absolutely refused to have any toxins injected into my body. There is a test called the Quantiferon Gold. It's a blood test. Human Resources offices have to accept this test as an alternative to the traditional PPD. Here is a link from the CDC. Ever since I learned about this blood test, I now refuse to be injected. There are NO long term studies on the impact of the TB injection on adults....let alone fetuses. Best luck to you as you begin the first of many calls to action in protecting your baby and yourself. CDC Guidelines for QuantiFeron
