The blueprints and floorplans of a house are not usually public. The town might have something but I wouldn't get my hopes up and most likely it would be a hassle to get access to it if you're not the owner.

In Nassau the sketch of the footprint is available online but that's not going to give you interior rooms.

Re: Is there anywhere to get house plans

Yes, floorplans are not usually readily available for most homes on LI, unless they are new construction or semi-new construction. But new construction is a small fraction of homes on LI, so that probably doesn't help!

It's much easier to get floorplans for co-ops and condos.

I have worked with some real estate companies/agents who create floor plans for their listings by measuring the rooms and making them up themselves, but it's a rarity. If you are working with an agent, he/she can check the pdf attachments to the listing (they are only accessible to agents who are MLS members), or he/she can inquire with the listing agent. Or if you don't have an agent, you can always request it from the listing agent yourself, but 95% of the time, they are not going to have it.

I always keep a tape measure in my car for my buyer clients to use. Unfortunately, if you want to know room dimensions for a house you are considering buying, you'll probably have to measure yourself!
