Breech Babies
I am 32w2d and LO is still breach. My Amniotic fluid is on the low side so while she is still technically able to flip over, i don't know what the chances are. I asked my OBGYN today and he said that 95% of babies, thanks to gravity, will flip head down by the time they are ready to be born.
I'm staying positive and what will be will be, not like i can change the fact if she will flip or not...but just wanted to know how many of you, if any, may have gone through this and actually had the baby flip in time for delivery.
I was just thinking that if 95% of babies turn in time to be born, that means that only 5% of babies will need to be born via c-section (barring any other complications/exceptions which would require one). Just seems to me that more than 5% of women will have one so i hear about it so much...

Re: Breech Babies
DS was Frank's breech at 32 weeks and flipped. You still have plenty of time for baby to flip.

Breech Babies
DS was frank breech since 28 weeks. Everyone kept saying he had time to flip. The whole time I had a feeling he wouldn't flip. He was also a big baby (and I had a small womb) so he had no room to flip. I ended up with a c-section at 39 weeks.

Re: Breech Babies
i was told not to be concerned with position until 36 weeks...a lot can change in the next 4 weeks.
but if you are really concerned, try getting to a yoga class. my instructor keeps saying if anyone is breech to let her know and she will show specific poses to help turn the baby

Re: Breech Babies
I'm 32w, too, and my LO is still breech. I saw the dr yesterday and she said if he's still breech at 36w, we'll talk about a c-section then. My LO is on the big side, so if he's going to flip, he'll probably do so soon.
Also, I read that most babies tend to flip between 33 and 35w, so again, 32w is early. If if the baby flipped now, there's a chance it won't stay that way. All that matters is the position at the end, and you (and I) still have 8 weeks to go.

Re: Breech Babies
There is also something called Webster Breech Technique. My friend did it and it worked. Can't hurt to check it out.

is this something like the "Version" technique? if it is, its not something that we are comfortable trying because of the complications.

No. She saw a chiropractor and said that she was specialized in treating pregnant women. She went a few times and it worked.

Re: Breech Babies
DS was breech at 32 weeks and stayed that way. I had low amniotic fluid and he was a big baby. He wasn't going anywhere.
He was born via scheduled c-section at 39 weeks and weighed 9 lbs. Very healthy with no complications.

Breech Babies
I think the higher rate of c-section is due to a bunch of factors. For instance my LO is head down right now at 31w3d (doctor said he could still flip a few times in the coming weeks) but I WANT to have a c-section. So there are elective c-sections, smaller women with larger babies, people who have had c-sections in the past among other more medical reasons...
I wouldn't worry your LO has plenty of time to turn!!!

DS was head down at 31 weeks. At 37 weeks he was footling breech (feet down). I was told that late in the pregnancy they usually dont turn. He never turned I have a c-section at 39 weeks.

It's totally different tha the "version" technique. I'm a chiropractor trained in Webster. It's simply an adjustment that addresses a pelvic imbalance (if there is one) and a trigger point in your round ligament. It gives your baby the room needed to turn on his/her own. It can take anywhere from 1-10 adjustments to work. Typically the only time I've seen it not work is when there is a physical obstruction, such as the cord being wrapped around the baby.
You're still pretty early, feel free to fm me if you have questions.

DD was frank breech from 28 weeks on. I tried the Webster technique since I wasn't a candidate for a version (and didn't really want one). It didn't work but I felt fantastic. ALL of my back pain and sciatica was gone within 2 weeks. DD was born via c/s nearly 9lbs.

No it's a chiropractic technique. It worked for me, I went for several sessions and my DD flipped @ 34 weeks.

LO was breech at 32 weeks, but I think he's turned. I'll find out on the 31st when I go for my growth sono (36 weeks). I never felt movement at the top of my belly until recently, so that's what makes me think he's flipped. Doctors weren't concerned at all -- they said he had plenty of time to turn and they wouldn't be concerned until around 36 weeks. He was measuring in the 50th percentile at 32 weeks, so he had room to turn!
