Property taxes
How much has your gone up for 2013? I just found out that mine went up over $1,000. It has never jumped that high in all the years. We have such a small piece of property, basically live on top of everyone on our block. I will submit a grievance again like I did last year, but this is crazy!

Are you sure its your property taxes that went up that much? Star is for school taxes. A lot of school districts taxes went up more then expected this year.

If your paper says STAR you're looking at your school taxes. That's what I just got my tax receipt for.

i hear ya.. between 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 my school taxes went up about 1,300 (this was including STAR- the school budget increased nearly 10% that year). I grieved and saved $300 for 2012-2013 but its still crazy how much it is.

Property taxes
$900!!! I'm in TO Brookhaven.
ETA: We did get a letter saying our taxes were going to go up because of a deck in the backyard and the finished basement that the previous owners never got C/O's for until we were in contract. But $900!?!?
I also noticed that house value increased by $21,000. DH called about the status of our grievance and there is a court date in January.
