Burn from laser hair removal
I have been going somewhere for my upper lip laser hair removal. I went the other day and she did a little part near my jawline. I now have a bad red mark that hasn't gone away in that area that I think is a burn. Has this happened to anyone? Does it go away? It doesn't seem to be for me. I have been going to this woman for a while now and this has never happened.

Burn from laser hair removal
This happened to me once but the tech noticed it immediately upon starting and told me that we should hold off on continuing the area. She was also someone that I had been to repeatedly so I trusted her. It turned out that I had a tan at the time so I came back when the area was lighter and haven't had a problem since. I'm not sure how it's relative but I hold off on the laser during the summer or right after vacation. The area did eventually turn to a brown scar and then over time it lightened up and is no longer visible. How bad is the burn? I would call the place and let them know what happened.

Re: Burn from laser hair removal
I went for a consult and the test was going fine, but 1 spot was really hot & I smelt the hair burn in that area too (almost like maybe there wasn't gel there or something). Sure enough it was a burn...the hair never grew back. Luckily it was smaller than a dime & on my arm, but now I'm afraid to ever go for laser.
The tech was very defensive & said that was the point of the testing. but I find it weird that all the rest of the area was fine, but the 1 spot.
