Husband refuses to get flu shot
Hi Everyone...I am so upset and don't know what to do.
I just went for my weekly checkup and while speaking to the doc, he recommend strongly that I get the Whopping cough shot and my Husband get the flu shot (I already got it). he said how both are deadly for infants if they get it.
My husband is outright refusing to get the shot. he says "i don't get the flu" I tried to explain to him that he could carry it even if he doesn't get it and he just doesn't care. How can he be so selfish?? this is is son's health we are talking about! I don't know what to do cuz now we are in a huge fight over this.
Anyone else go through this or have any suggestions??

Re: Husband refuses to get flu shot
when i saw your topic i thought to myself, did i just write about this and forget? DH does NOT want to get the flu shot. he claims that he ALWAYS gets sick after he gets the flu shot. Meanwhile, we have been together for 4 years and he has never in that time, gotten the flu shot, so how has he gotten sick?
i just called and made an appointment to go to the Dr. onthe 29th for him. Its been way to long for himto get his regular bloodwork done as well. Iplan on going withhim and I will make them give him the flu shot. I didn't give him a choice about this. He has until the 29th to get used to the idea.
I wish i had other suggestions for you...i don't see what the big deal is about getting pricked with one little needle. I would rather have DH get sick instead of a newborn! although the way DH acts when he is sick you would think the world is ending!

Yup DH also said that he got sick int he past after getting it, which I think is also bs. Ridiculous that he can be that selfish. I friggen got bells palsy at 28 weeks of pregnancy and are still dealing w/ it, but I would so much rather me have it then my son! You think he would feel the same?!

Re: Husband refuses to get flu shot
DH was against it, neither of us ever get it. But I was able to convince him!

Re: Husband refuses to get flu shot
Tell your husband that he can tough out a little discomfort from the flu shot much easier than your newborn baby will be able to fight off the flu. It's potentially deadly for a baby.
Then if that doesn't work, just make him do it!
